Since 2010, our
family started to love traveling. We use to do it every summer. We believe that
there’s no better way of having fun with family through spending time in
traveling. People say that “Planning will always not give success”, so to plan
is not our thing. Familia Mendoza is looking forward for more travel to go in
the future. And here we goooo!
Cebu
The capital of Cebu island is Cebu City. Cebu City is
the first Spanish settlement in the country and the oldest city in the
country.
In the beginning of the 16th century the Spaniards
arrived in the southern part of the Philippines. Since then Cebu City has been the
center of trade and commerce in the southern part of the Philippines.
What has Cebu to offer to
tourists?
For tourists the island Cebu, its capital Cebu City and
the nearby smaller islands have a lot of attractions. Many things to do and to
see.
Especially:
- Sun, sea and beach, inclusive possibilities for diving.
- Local Industries
- Lot of outside activities
- Traces from the Spanish and religious past in Cebu City
Transportation
We have four
ways to get from Manila to Cebu:
- Air transportation
- Bus and ferry
- Car ferry
- Bus and ferry, ferry
The cheapest way
is car ferry which costs 1,200-1,800 pesos which takes 22 hours. The bus and ferry
costs 1,790-2,530 pesos which takes 14 hours and 35 minutes. The bus and ferry, ferry
takes almost 25 hours that costs 2,530-4,100 pesos. And the quickest way to get to
Cebu is air transportation which takes 3 hours that costs around 3,000-4,000
without promo.
Accomodating Places
When we arrived
in Mactan, the first one we looked for is the hotel where will we stay in a few
days. Here are few suggested hotels where you will be comfortable to stay with.

The
first tourist spot is the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral also called as The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Angels and of St. Vitales (consecrated to the Archangels and all

6. The Magellan's Cross is planted a cross to signify this important event about the propagation of the Roman Catholic faith in what is now Cebu, in central Philippines. The original cross is reputedly encased in another wooden cross for protection, as people started chipping it away in the belief that it had miraculous healing powers.

Local Industry
The province of Cebu is especially well known because
of the production of locally handmade acoustic guitars, bandurrias (Filipino
mandolins), banjos and ukuleles. Already for generations the Cebuanos have been
making quality guitars. The guitar makers are considered to be among the
world's finest craftsmen. Maribago on Mactan island, is the center of
Cebu's guitar-making industry.
